The new retirement home in Höfn, in the form of an extension to the existing hospital, is designed for a total of 26 new residential units and associated service rooms. In addition to a multi-purpose hall and day care rooms, the new building houses a chapel, physical and occupational therapy rooms, a hairdresser, kitchen areas and staff rooms.
The two storey building stands on the beach overlooking the sea. The main entrance is located between the existing building and the new building, and the chapel and the multi-purpose hall are accessed via the entrance square.
The residential units are grouped around a courtyard that can be used as a garden. The communal living areas have been placed so that all residents can experience the beautiful view.
