House of Labour

The office building "House of Labour" is located at Borgartún 35 in Reykjavik and is the headquarters of the industry and craft interest group in Iceland.
A2F was asked to renovate the ground floor and make changes to the reception area, canteen, meeting rooms and offices. Walls, floors and ceilings were partially renewed. The lighting, furniture, permanent fixtures such as new benches, shelves and the reception area were newly purchased based on designs by A2F.
The goal was to design a friendly and healthy environment in which both employees and guests feel comfortable. The choice of materials in the furnishings - steel, wood, textiles and glass - reflect the diversity of industry and crafts and stand as a symbol for the working world, which the House of Labour represents.
